Key Club Meetings

Things we need to do to make this club successful:

  • get materials

  • get volunteers

  • brochures

  • sign up list with projects we'd like to get involved in.


    • Given Events: (i.e should be planned in advance)
    Teacher Auction
    Spaghetti-dinner

    We discussed how each meeting should be held, what could probably be given to all the members (like pins or baseball caps)
    Plans for actually keeping the members busy.
    We need to organize how we want to plan out our year.

    Things we need to discuss before the year starts:

  • What we want to do

  • How we want to do it

  • Set up agenda of what we want to do throughout the year.

  • Explain rules of events

  • Who will collect the money

  • Who will help with registration

  • Need someone able to mimmick or act like an auctioneer, be entertaining.

  • Decide where the fundraised money will go.

  • Long-term plan for club - so that we don't plan everything at once.


    • What we need to do this weekend:
  • Try to get as many people to register as possible
    make it known that the local school's Key Club was here.

  • Key Club handouts.

  • When we should have general meetings

  • What we plan to do throughout the year.

    Purpose of meeting: to discuss what we need to do for an upcoming event.

    Conclusion:
    Everyone is ok with the idea of helping out in this barbecue and everyone knows there will be posters and things to hand out, so that Key Club would be known to youth living in Bayshore.
    The local Bayshore High School is Bell High School

    Type of Meeting: executive
    Location: Lakeside Gardens
    Time: 1pm-3:30pm
    Purpose of meeting: to discuss the things we need to do for a dance.

    Things discussed at the meeting:

  • Each member was given something they should research for the dance


    • THINGS BEING RESEARCHED

  • Cost and location for the dance

  • Cost for bouncers/cops and the cost of food and drinks

  • Dates when Bayshore Community Center and when a few other places are available.


    • Conclusion of meeting:
    All the executives have certain tasks: certain things they have to research about available places.

    Other things discussed at the meeting:

  • Name for our dance

  • Equipment that has to be bought

    Purpose of meeting: to discuss plans for starting off next year as well as discuss ways in which to raise money over summer.
    Conclusion:

    • to research the possibility of having a fundraiser in the form of a dance for teens living in Ottawa.

    • To discuss the availability of required resources and to then create a formal, detailed proposition to our advisor Paul McCumber for feedback.


    Why have the dance:

    • to earn money for next year's events

    • to donate that money to a charity
